In 1927 W.D. Roeder ran a jewelry store. In 1928 the Sussman Ladies Ready to Wear company leased the retail space and opened a a store here. That lasted less than a year and by about August of 1929 A. J. Maisonneuve had leased the space for a shoe store.

By September of 1931 Andrew Jepson leased the space and was redecorating it as he prepared to open a barber shop and beauty salon in the building, by January of 1932 Jepson had moved his business to a new location. That seems like a lot of turnover in tenants, but these last few were during the beginning years of the Great Depression.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
