In
a 1959 ad in the AAA TourBook the Hi-Way Host invited guests to "Spend
a "never-to-be-forgotten vacation" at Beautiful Hi-Way Host
Motel". The 1957 Hi-way Host Motel had 40 rooms, a play ground
for kids and a heated swimming pool. Most of the rooms are on the ground
floor, but some are on the second floor. Some of the rooms had kitchenettes.

road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
