Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch

24266 National Trails Hwy., Helendale, CA

East < GO > West

Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch is almost beyond description. It's a visual delight that brings new life to the idea of creative recycling! It's located just a few miles west of Helendale, just past Cardigan Rd on Route 66 (National Trails Hwy).

Elmer Long built the Bottle Tree Ranch in 2002 in honor of his father who was a former treasure hunter. On the top of one of his trees is his Lionel train he received when he was 3. Elmer moved to the desert in 1968 and worked at the nearby cement plant, married and raise three sons here. The Bottle Tree Ranch is a little over 2 plus acres..

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
