The little six room 66 Motel, which was built soon after WWII, is located at the intersection of Route 66 (E. Broadway St.) and Desnak St., right around the corner from Carty's Camp/Havasu Court. Jack Rittenhouse mentioned "The Palms" and the Havasu Court, but not the 66 Motel in his 1946 "Guide Book To Highway 66" The guest rooms are arrange around the office, all in one building. It has been used as single-room apartments since 1990s.

The sign on Route 66 is across the street from the motel. The sign was restored and then relighted in a ceremony on June 23, 2012. The numbers 66 featured neon outlines surrounding 29 incandescent bulbs in each number.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
