Molly Brown's was originally the mid-1940s White Orange Cafe and Motel operated by James G. Blaine and his family. The White Orange name was apparently related to family heritage.

In the early 1950s the property changed hands and the new owners ran the business for a few years before selling it in the mid-50s before I-15 opened a few miles away. When the I-40 opened in 1958 it bypassed Helendale and Oro Grande and of course took away a significant amount of traffic. Molly Brown's is a small chain of restaurants.

The cafe is located a bit east of Sagebrush Annie's

GPS: 34.705061, -117.336205

The small 5 unit motel building, which is apartments now, is behind the trees.

xThere's an old horse drawn wagon parked out front, but there 's a child's trike, peddle car and a small step ladder on the roof.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
