The Goffs Santa Fe Railway Depot was built in 1902 and demolished in 1956.
In 2005 the Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association was awarded
a grant to construct this replica of the Goffs Railway Depot. It was completed
in September 2008 and dedicated in October 2008.
This
photo shows the long one story section of the depot. I'm not sure were
the original depot was located, but it was probably down on the main
line..

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
