This is what looks like an old cafe and station is located just west of the intersection of the 1926 Route 66 (Goff's Rd) and the 1931 alignment of 66 and the National Trails Hwy. This is the first building as you approach Essex.

An old building, possibly a home slowly decays along Mother Road.

An old gas station/garage. The latest business located here was Essex Tire Repair Shop. When you drive through these forlorn little communities, which are close to being ghost towns, it becomes painfully clear that the "Main Street of America" moved on without them. This building is west of the Market and Post Office.
