Oatman Main Street

Main Street, Oatman, AZ
Phone:x

East < GO > West

There's a neat little mining exhibit next to the Oatman Drug building. A large Arizona Hotel and Arizona Stores Co. building occupied this lot before it was destroyed.

x You can still read the faded sign on the front of the 1926 Lee Lumber Co. building, but like most of the buildings on Main Street it's a gift shop.

x The Oatman Theater Bldg. once seated 300 people, today it's a another of the many gift shops in town. The original theater was built in 1912 and apparently modified in 1980.

xThis little building houses another gift shop at 191 Main and has been around since 1926.

x The Ore House building at 194 Main has been here since 1940 The murals provide a bit of Oatman history for all to read.

x

The Oatman General Store building is over 100 years old having been built in 1908.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
