Oatman Drug Company Building

1 Main Street, Oatman, AZ

East < GO > West

The 1915 Oatman Drug Company building is much like it was when it was built. Most of the wrap around balcony on the second floor has been removed, as has a stairway at the back of the building. Some of the original first floor windows on the sides of the building have been replaced over the years. In general, the building is showing it's age.

It seemed to be an antique shop when this photo was taken in 2013. It was an antique shop when we were there but other signs on the building read "Gold City Hotel" (the role the building played in the movie "How The West was Won" and "Museum". The building is on the Nation Register of Historic Places.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
