The Little Post Office Sanctuary building is a bit of a mystery. The sign on the front says it is, or was, a church but the name is kind of unusual for a church. It does look like it might have been a post office years ago, so I wonder if the church later occupied it and just added the word Sanctuary to the name. If so, that was a bit of creative marketing, most locals likely knew exactly where the little post office building was. The sign identifies the church as the Interfaith Fellowship and names the pastor as Esther Ortega Andre.

This little building sits a short distance west of Oretgas Trading Post on the south frontage road.

xWhatever the actual history of the building is the messaging on the sign is pretty cool!

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
