Sandwiched between the historic Beale and Brunswick hotels is the neat little H(enry) Lovin building. Built in 1906 to replace a building that was recently destroyed in a fire. The first tenant of the neat little building was A. P. Jacob's Palace Saloon which opened on October 2, 1906. With its stone walls and concrete floor the building has stood it's ground for over a hundred years pretty much unaltered except for the entry door.

x The name and construction date of the building appear near the top of the building. Like the hotels on either side of it, the Lovin building is constructed of locally quarried "tufa" stone, a type of limestone.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
