The Hyde Park Cabins and Shell Gas Station complex also had a cafe. There appears to have been at least a dozen cabins and probably more here. Before the Grand Canyon Caverns built their own motel this was the closest place to stop for the night.

The ruins are located near mile marker 117, a bit more than one mile west of Deer Lodge and about 1.5 miles east of Grand Canyon Caverns. Watch for the large boulder on the north side of the road across from the Hyde Park Road sign. Ruins are on the north side of the road. The property is fenced off but there is a turn out so parking is not a problem.

x The pool is about all that is left that provides any real photo opportunity, a few other foundation ruins can be spotted west of the pool.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
