Former Mobile Gas Station711 W. Hopi Dr., Holbrook, AZPhone:
Going by the signs painted on the building it's apparent last occupant was a muffler shop. In 1963 it was Watson's Service Station. In the mid-1960s it was home to LaMarr Farr Distributors, distributors of Mobil Oil Products. It was a Mobil station until at least 1978. Two resource list it as being from the 1940s, I think that the style of the building fits r with the 1940s period. Some sources list the address of this building as 707 W. Hopi, it was next to the east side of the Wigwam Motel.

The
projecting round showroom section just lights up my imagination about
possible uses for the building. Unfortunately the building has been
standing empty for several years and is deteriorating more and more
as time goes by. Much of the roof has collapsed or otherwise opened
to the elements.
It
is a fairly good sized building with 5 service bays and the showroom
area.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
