In the 1920s this was Winchester Dickerson's "Northern Arizona Commercial
Company: General Merchandise" store. That was the first business
to occupy this building. When these photos were taken in 2013 it was a
Methodist Church. In between is served as the Arizona Cafe for several
years beginning in 1935, and became Ida's Cafe after that. The cafe had
a wide neon sign where the church name is in this photo. They also had
a roof top "Cafe" sign as well as a large vertical "Cocktails"
sign on the front of the building.
The stone panels on the side and front have Native American symbols
built into them. Here's a closer look at a couple of the panels and
the symbols they display.
