Standing next to the Alanreed Post Office at the Alanreed Travel Center , which is also a gas stationa and convenience store, is an old pioneer jail with a large "BEER" sign on it. Makes me wonder if the jail's motto was "Get Your Beer and Bunk Here!"

It's easy to miss the old jail because of the big beer sign stuck to the side, so this photo might help folks locate it easier. There is a small motel here too.

This motel is part of the Alanreed Travel Complex which includes a RV park, motel, post office, gas station and convenience store. A neat place find postcards of local interests. After I-40 bypassed McLean, Texas this motel was opened by E. J. and Grace Windom who previuosly owned and operated the West Wind Motel in McLean
