This Guard House also known as the jail was constructed in 1888. There
used to be a shed roofed enclosed porch along the front of the original
building instead of the gabled porch roof there now.
A
brick addition was added to the west side of the stone Guard House at
the turn of the century to serve as a post office.

road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
