The original Avant's Cities Service Station was built in 1933. The Cities Service logo would have been displayed where the blue WBC logo is in this photo. Originally a Cities Service station, it also switched to Phillips 66 and Texaco as time went on.

x When we were there it was being used by WBC Rental Center. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
