The 1909 Guadalupe County Courthouse is located at the intersection of
Route 66 & 4th St. The courthouse with its Richardson Romanesque styling
was built in 1909 using sandstone . After doing time as the county courthouse
the building has been used as a Guadalupe County Youth Drop-In Center
beginning in 1985 and before that as a Senior Citizens Center. It was
placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
