The White Arrow Garage dates back to 1943. The building still wears several
identifying and advertising signs. On the east side near the front corner
you see "Garage" and on the front just above the garage door
is a smaller "White Arrow Garage" and there is a larger name
sign in the gable area. Above the front window is a sign advertising Wheel
Alignments. Betweem the garage and entry doors there is some lettering
that is hard to read but that appears to say "Official Trucker Station".
The
folded banner style sign in the gable area shows the name "White
Arrow Garage". This banner is rather oddly painted over a much
larger sign that simple said "Garage" without having painted
out the old sign first.

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
