1923 Otero's Filling Station

The little house style Otero's Filling Station was built in 1923, three years before the streets in front became Route 66. By 1933 it was a Phillips 66 Station. In later years it was a tire store. Route 66 turned west at this corner and headed for Correo.

xThe station was a smoke shop when we went by in 2017.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
