The
motel name and "No Vacancy" are neon and the red arrow was
lit with incandescent light bulbs. A zigzag neon strip runs just below
the roof edge on the office and motel building.
The
motel features typical L shape with the office in a separate small building.
This was the first motel people saw as they traveled east on Route 66
into Albuquerque. It was owned and operated by Russell Farber.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
