1921 Pecos River Bridge

B41D, (Entrada de San Jose), San Jose, NM
Phone:x

East < GO > West

This is a Parker through truss bridge on the pre-1937 alignment. The deck is timber, later covered with asphalt. From Route 66 (North Frontage Rd 2116), turn south on B41D and go through the tunnel under I-25, then follow the road around the Plaza Church to the bridge.

xThe deck of the bridge appears to be about 100 feet long and maybe 18 feet wide. The tree is a clue that the bridge is closed. It's actually a bridge to nowhere now because the road on the other side is gone.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
