The original Texaco filling station here was built in 1927. In 1930 it was the Fourth Street Service Station. From the mid-30s to at least mid-1945 it was the Navajo Super Service Station #2, selling Texaco gas and also Firestone tires. The service service bays to the north of the original station were reportedly added in the mid-30s to 1945 time period. It apparently continued to be a Texaco Station until the late 60s. In 2019 the "Get it Fixed" ATV and Scooter repair shop was located in this station.

The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 as part of the Barelas-South Fourth Street

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
