Route 66 Motors opened in 1979 in a 1940 building that had been a Delano Thrifty Service Station and Strawhun Grocery and Filling Station at different times over the years. We had a nice visit with Wayne Bates, the owner when we were here in 2009. The gift shop which was located in an adjacent 1950's diner was no longer operating by then but he still had several classic cars around.

It is located on Old Highway 66, just west of RA road. That's the north frontage road between exits 195 and 181.
