This former roadside park is across the road from the former Twin Oaks Camp. In the 1920s and early-30s the camp was owned by Sadie McMenus, she sold both to L. E. Snyder and his daughter Maude in 1936. Maude later donated to Park to the Town of Phillipsburg. It was known both as Twin Oaks Park and Snyder Park.

For many years from the late 20s to the early 40s the park was the location of at least part of the Twin Oaks Annual Picnic. In the early 1940s there were parking areas and picnic tables, typical of small roadside parks. In the mid 1950s some road maps still marked this spot as a roadside park.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
