The Chippewa Motel started out in 1938 with 13 detached cottages. Travelers could stay in one of those cottages for as little as $1.50 per night. The motel was remodeled (probably) in the late 1940s or early 50s to include 21 units. It is currently used as long term apartments.

NOTE: Here's another situation where the actual street address of the business is different from the mailing address. The Motel is in Marlborough, a suburb of St. Louis. It's just easier to say the place is in St. Louis.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
