This small building was apparently a gas station/garage years ago. More recently it was a barber shop according to a local resident who kindly took a few minutes to chat with us about the neighborhood. I'm guessing that the building predates a widening of the street some years ago since the streetlight pole is so close to the garage door and there is no curb cut for a driveway.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
