Baxter Springs School, 1520 Cleveland, (15th & Cleveland), Baxter Springs, KS

The original school was built in 1918, a bymnasium/auditorim was added in 1939 and a final building, Industrial Arts Building was added in 1964. When a new high school was built in 1975, the building became the Baxter Springs Middle School until 2013. It has been restored and is currently being used as affordable senior housing.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
