Baxter National Bank & Masonic Hall

1046 Military Ave., Baxter Springs, KS
Phone:

East < GO > West

The Baxter National Bank occupied this building from the early -1900s until 1952 when it merged with the American Bank and moved to the business their location a block south on Military.

At one time it housed the Mason's on the upper floor. Notice the emblem above the doorway on the far left in this photo. There actually isn't a door there, just an open doorway that leads to a stairway to the second floor.

Masonic Symbol over doorway.

I don't know what this represents.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
