The historic 1907 McLean State Bank building is home to Pinball Paradise where you'll find a selection of 20+ vintage pinball machines, some dating back to the 1960s.

In 1860 C. C. Aldrich established McLean’s first bank and in 1897 he and his son Frank W. Aldrich formed the C.C. Aldrich and Son Bank. In 1906 they reorganized as the McLean State Bank. Frank W. Aldrich was the cashier and managed estates and investments while his father served as bank president.

They commissioned the well know architect Arthur Pillsbury to design this building, which the bank moved into in 1907. The new building cost about $7,500.00.

The bank survived the early years of the Great Depression but in 1938 they decided to close the bank. After the bank closed the building was sold at auction on November 18, 1939, thirty-two years and a few days after it opened for business in 1907. C. C. Aldrich had died in 1917 and Frank retired after the bank closed.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
