The Brumm building stands on the NE corner of S. Veto St. at Owsley St., about 1/2 block north of the Chenoa Pharmacy. Frederick Brumm was a successful farm implement dealer in Chenoa. This late 1800s building replaced one on this block that burned down in 1894.

A1954 Chenoa Centenial publication describes this buildind as:

"a brick block on his lots. It was one story and contained five store rooms 24 ft wide and varing in lenght from 50 to 100 ft with basement. It had plate glass and iron fronts ornamented with terra cott and stone."

xThe Brumm name is still in place. The upper row of "windows" in this photo have benn boarded sometime after 2015.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
