These are the survivors of the many pioneer automobile dealers on the west side of Pasadena in the early 1900s. Several historic auto dealership buildings have been demolished, some for the freeway construction, others simply for redevelopment projects, such as what you see on the south side of Colorado today.

This building was built in 1917 and occupied by the Howard Motor Company. They had previously been located in a long gone building at 245 W. Colorado.

in 1935 Edmonson & Thorngren, a Hudson Terraplane was located in this building.

This was the Walter M Murphy Motor Sales Company Building built in 1917. It was a Hudson Essex Dealership and still located here in 1925.

295/7 W Colorado Blvd, Pasadena,
This was the Hewson Motor Company Building built in 1925 for the Hewson Motor Compnay, a Pierce Arrow dealership. The architect was Frederick Kennedy, Jr.

This was the Keller Brothers Building built in 1923 for the Keller Brothers (later Keller Brothers and March), a Studebaker dealership. The architect was Frederick Kennedy, Jr.

This was the Lindley Motor Company Building built in 1925 for Earl Lindly Motor Company, a Nash dealership. The architect was Frederick Kennedy, Jr.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
