Emma Jeans Holland Burger

17143 North D St.
(760) 243-9938x

East < GO > West

This cafe has been here since 1947 when it was built by Bob and Kate Holland. It became Emma Jean's Holland Burger in 1979 when Richard Gentry bought it and renamed for his wife. It is only open for breakfast and lunch and only accepts cash. It is home of the Brian Burger, Holland Burger & Trucker Special.

xThe neon tubing was missing from the neat old sign when we went by in 2015. The cafe has it's own historical marker in the parking lot.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
