The Iron Hog Restaurant and Saloon, a biker bar was formerly the Lost Hawg Saloon and probably more. It originally was a Case Farm Equipment dealership from 1931-1944, after that it was McClintocks Cafe into the early 1950s. Actor Roy Rogers carved his brand or initials into the bar and the place served as locations for at least two movies, Easy Rider and Erin Brockovitch.

It has been a restaurant and/or bar for decades. The building was damaged by fire in 2018 so I don't know if it is open or not. It is located east of Oro Grande on Route 66.

xLadder Truck number 102 bearing a Route 66 shield on the cab door was on display in the parking lot when we went by in 2013. It's marked a 100 foot extension. A mid-1940s flatbed Ford pickup was parked out front when we snapped this photo.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
