The 1930 Rockfield Bridge west of Oro Grande is also called the Oro Grande
Bridge or Route 66 Bridge. It was built in 1930 and is a Modified Baltimore
Through Truss Bridge spanning 575 feet over the Mojave River. The longest
span is 270 feet and the deck is a bit over 34 feet wide. The side trusses
are staggered which gives the impression of distortion in an image from
this position. Once you go over this bridge you are in Victorville. Notice
the ornate guardrails.
