Harding Court, 401 E. Foothills Blvd, Monrovia, CAPhone:
This is the oldest bungalow court still standing in Monrovia. It was built and designed in 1920 by Sherman McQueen who sold it by 1925. The court with its 15 units were restored in 2002 using postcard to assist to make it close to how there were originally. It was reportedly named then President-elect Warren G. Harding. It is located on Foothill Blvd between Grand and Poinsettia Ave. This wasn't a court style motel as far as I can tell, but rather the bungalows were rented on monthly basis and at seasonal rates. Seeminingly to an upscale crowd, at least into the Great Depression era.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
