The 1928 building was the home to Wilson's Sandwich Shop and later Wilson's Steakhouse until 1962. New owners purchased the property in 1964 and spent two years renovating it. In 1966 La Paloma opened and it still owned and operated by the same family.

x It's pretty hard to miss the large colorful sign out front. The La Paloma name and the word Cocktails are in neon. La Paloma is Spanish for "the dove" and is a carryover from many years ago from the founding families first restaurant in Flagstaff, AZ.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
