The Fontana Motor Lodge started life as the 60 unit Fontana Travelodge in the mid 1950s. But much has changed in the basic building except for the removal of the drive through canopy over the office entrance. There was a heated swimming pool inside the fenced area by the sign, not sure if that is still useable or not. These older motels often just fill the pool with sand and call it day.

The original single post sigh has been replaced at some point. It's hard to see in this photo but there is a neon "No Vacancy" sign attached to the bottom of the main sign can.
