The 1970s Butterfield Stage Company Steakhouse occupies the 1927 Motaurant Coffee Shop site. Notice the stagecoach on top.

x The Chief Motel was located across the street from the Butterfield Stage Company Steakhouse but it burned down in 1975. Left standing is a large wall with a Route 66 map painted on it.

Note: The image on this postcard appears to be from the early 1960s based on the newest cars shown. Apparently, according to the "Indian Arts" mentioned, they had a gift shop as well as the food services. It wasn't unusual for a cafe to have some kind of gift shop oor area in the heyday of Route 66, mentioning it on a postcard was less common.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
