The sign on this building says Melton Motor Co. was "est. 1946". As late as early 2014 there was a small 2 bay gas station building standing between this building and J. M. Davis Blvd. By then that little station was part of the Melton complexbut it was reportedly originally a Magnolia station in 1918/20 and from then until the 1940s a Humble Oil station.
