From at least 1930 to 1959 this was primarily a grocery store, first as Stokes Brothers Grocery in 1930, then the Busy Bee Food Market in the late 1930s, followed by Baileys Market in the mid-1940s and finally the Phil Jones Food Market from 1949 to the late 1950s.

The gable roof is an obvious later addition to the building. That kind of an addition is typically to replace a leaky flat roof, but with a garage door on the front I wonder if a later owner just need more head room in the building.
